Grind

Fine coffee grind

Fine grind contains relatively small particles and is commonly used for espresso and some other short-contact brewing methods.

Common uses

Espresso generally uses a fine grind. Some moka-pot and AeroPress recipes also use relatively fine coffee.

Avoid overgeneralising

“Fine” describes a relative particle size rather than a universal micrometre measurement. Different grinders produce different particle distributions.
